thursday noon-ish

Wednesday was a good day. In the Thursday morning post below you can hear a little bit from each of the service teams.

We met Pastor Jay last night. He is our speaker as we finish out the week. He is an African American pastor who was called back to the south side. The kids loved his style and his heart and the solid biblical foundation from which he shared with us. He had some really good, really memorable words for us. God calls us to be unified. and there is no unity without diversity. He challenged us to look at the first few times the gospel is shared in Acts. 1. the disciples were out in the community. 2. the holy spirit does something. 3. people ask a question. 4. the gospel is always the answer.

Just a few nuggets from Pastor Jay.

Then we spent time as a group sharing the experiences of the day and encouraging each other. It is so fun and encouraging to hear how they are seeing God's glory in each other.

I am praying for each of you to finish strong, getting strength, encouragement and endurance from Christ. You are making an eternal difference, and I pray God shows you a glimpse of the fruit that is happening within you and through you. I encourage each of you to take the reflection time to look for and articulate how you have seen Christ work during this time.

Today's verse, which I am praying for each of you by name, is from Psalms 68:4-5 "Sing to God, sing praises to His name; lift up a song to Him who rides through the deserts; His name is The Lord; exult before Him! Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in His holy habitation."

There is no better sound than the praises you declare for God, and I cannot wait to hear them personally. As my small group knows, I will just keep asking "Tell me more about that!" I can't wait to hear, and I am praying God will continue to reveal Himself to you and the people of Chicago in new ways! May God provide all you need to finish with excellence, to encourage one another and to humble yourselves to the needs of your groups. May He keep your hearts open and soft. May you give great testimony to Him!

Callie--we miss you more than words can express! We miss your laugh, your humor, your many stories and your energy! We CANNOT wait for you to be home. I praise God for His creation of you, knowing you will bring that joy and energy for this end stretch. I will be praying fervently for you. I love you! xoxo

Kari, Lara, Valerie, Alyssa, Jessi, Sydney and Amy--I am praying for you. Our group will be forever changed by this experience, and I am so excited to hear how God has grown you and brought you together. Keep smiling and have a little wave-woo for the rest of us. :)

Go make Him famous! Love and prayers to all.

Everyone at home is praying for you and so proud of the work you are doing in His name! There is nothing so deeply satisfying in your soul as being directly in alignment with what God has asked you to do and having a willing heart. He will reveal so much about himself and the wonderful future he has planned specifically for each of you, just look and listen. Blessings are surrounding you!

Sydney - We miss you and love you so much! Stay open to His promptings, keep focused on what is truly important and have fun on this exciting adventure. Love - Momma, Cassie and Jacey
